Ripples

‘Ripples’ is a project delving into the phenomenon of lucid dreaming. In lucid dreams, the dreamer possesses the awareness of being within a dream, enabling them to exert control over characters, plotlines, and settings. As a lucid dreamer myself, I feel a compelling pull to explore the depths of my subconscious through every fragment of these ethereal experiences.

Whether it's the light of day or the darkness of night, the boundaries between reality and hallucination blur, leaving one questioning the distinction between dreaming and wakefulness. Through the medium of collaged imagery, I aim to lead the audience through a visual journey, immersing them in the sensation of being ensnared within a dream within a dream, inviting them to grasp the intricate and often chaotic construction of the subconscious mind.

Planned Situated Exhibition

When considering how the work may function or be perceived by audiences, my intention is to curate an exhibition. The meanings and concepts embedded within my images may manifest differently in the eyes of viewers compared to my own interpretation. Therefore, the exhibition is designed to facilitate the audience's visualization of the fragmented essence of lucid dreaming, while also evoking the multifaceted sensations inherent in such experiences—spanning from fear and excitement to introspection and pleasure.

Projected on the expansive walls, the images loom large, creating an illusion of reality, yet interspersed among them are disjointed and layered compositions, evoking moments of eerie and surreal resonance. In the central section, imagery flows seamlessly across both wall and floor, blurring the boundaries between reality and illusion, inviting viewers to grapple with the disorientation, alienation, and strangeness characteristic of the dream realm.
