TRui and Lesi's projects converge in their exploration of intimate relationships with subjects, aiming to authentically portray them. Lesi's portraits primarily feature peers defying societal expectations, showcasing a vibrant Chinese youth culture through teenage rebels. In contrast, Rui's Polaroids spotlight female empowerment.

Recognizing the thematic and ideological parallels in their work, and drawing from shared Asian, feminine, and self-identity seeking experiences, Rui and Lesi plan to collaborate. Their joint project will confront societal norms, focusing on slut-shaming—a phenomenon prevalent yet rarely examined. It sheds light on disparities in treatment faced by female overseas students, especially highlighting increased slut-shaming. The aim is to unveil subconscious misogyny towards these women and prompt audience introspection.
The project adopts a photo diary format, documenting the stories and portraits of female peers who have encountered slut-shaming and inequality. Polaroid snapshots add a personal touch to each narrative, while transcribed phone interviews capture their voices. The diary will also feature intimate dialogues between women, showcasing their resilience and individuality.

Rui and Lesi champion the transformative power of female solidarity in challenging societal stereotypes. Through visual representation of the female form, the project emphasizes connections among women. It navigates both private and public spheres, providing a safe space for individual expression while also engaging the public through a photo diary exhibition. This immersive experience aims to educate, provoke discussion, and advocate for the rights and dignity of international female student.
